Letter to the Mosque of Granada from an Iraqi Muslim living in Europe.
by Walid Abdul-Hamid.
Dear bother Abdulhasib,
Thank you for your forwarded message that enlightened me about 9/11. Since that bad day the life of muslims has become so difficult in Europe.
I came to U.K from Iraq in 1986 and studied psychiatry and because of the continuous wars and sanctions against Iraq I stayed here and was very happy for many years till 9/11 when every thing at work, home and on the street became more difficult for all the Muslim in the U.K. 7/7 atrocity in the London underground made things harder further.
Thank you for your work to help and gather Muslim in Europe. I have enjoyed your phone-in programme at aljazera satellite channel.
May God bless you I hope I could see you again at Granada Mosque next summer as I could not come this summer because my father who lived with me since the American invasion of Iraq in 2003 became very unwell and died on the 30th of September 2007.
Please brother pray for his soul. My father used to say that people who convert to Islam are closer to God than those born to Islam.
May God bless and protect you and your brothers at Granada Mosque.
Thank you again for the great work you undertake may God reward you for it in this life 'Donia' and the life after 'Akhira'.
wa alsalam alekom wa rahmat allah wa barakateh.
Walid Abdul-Hamid.
